175 persons faced with corruption last year applied to Fund of fight against corrupton. President of Fund of fight against corrupton, Namig Akhundov said in the press conference on outcomes of 2008 he held today.  

 “The figure has grown 2 times more as compared with 2007. We have obtained 40% positive solution of the complaints. This proves that the establishment and functioning level of the interior bodies for control on the citizens applications does not conform to the national strategy. Generally, the implementation of National Strategy in the regions is based on formal reports”.

To him, the investigations held in Baku and 11 regions of the republic as well as the applications of the citizens enabled to discover the state bodies with poor results.  

The complaints concern the local municipals, State Registration Service, land committees, courts and court executors, tax service, target assistance and problems on pensions.

 “Complaints also include power and gas nets recently. Besides that, corruption was also observed in some education and health institutions as well”, he added.
