The agreement will be signed by Georgian minister of foreign affairs Grigol Vashadze and US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
A strategic partnership agreement between the US and Georgia will be signed on January 9. ANS PRESS informed that Head of press and information department of Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Khatuna Iosava said. To her, the agreement will be signed by Georgian minister of foreign affairs Grigol Vashadze and US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Signing of the agreement appointed on Jan 4 despite it was postponed due to last situation in Middle East. Details of the agreement are not available still. According to initial information, the document envisages support to Georgia in holding reforms and strengthening of Georgian Army. Georgian delegation is expected to leave for Washington on Jan 8. The delegation includes Georgian First deputy minister Giga Bokeriya, Defense minister David Sikharulidze and Minister on reintegration affairs Temur Yakobashvili as well as Georgia’s new ambassador to US Batu Kuteliya. Remind that, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said in his congratulation to people that strategic partnership agreement with US will serve Georgia’s full security.
