The campaign will be held in a number of mosques.
A voluntary blood donation campaign will be held in a number od mosques in Baku on the Day of Ashura, the head of the Press Service of Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO) Rahima Dadashova told ANS PRESS. Ms. Dadashova said that the campaign will include a number of mosques including “Haji Ajdarbey”, “Haji Sultanali” and “Juma” mosques. She further noted that the CMO had already requested Baku City Healthcare Department for the campaign to be carried out by doctors and got positive answer. CMO`s Gazi Council issued a fatwa on the start of Muharram month on December 23, 2008. Tomorrow is the Day of Ashura, the tenth day of Muharram in the Islamic calendar. It is commemorated as a day of mourning for the martyrdom of Husayn ibn Ali, the grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad in the Battle of Karbala on 10 Muharram in the year 61 AH (October 10, 680 AD). In addition, the memories of the victims of 20 January tragedy and Daqliq Qarabaq War will also be commemorated./ANS PRESS/
